MOTHER-OF-PEARL, also known as nacre, comes from the cultivation of mollusks in tropical seas and Australia. It is a natural, hard, and iridescent organic material that lines the inside of shells. Composed mainly of calcium carbonate, it is noted for its shimmering luster.

Mother-of-pearl features iridescent reflections and rainbow tones that vary as the angle of light changes; as it is a natural product, it is rarely perfect, unlike "nacarina," its imitation, which always has a uniform and flat color.

Small imperfections such as seams, roughness, and raised areas, as well as non-uniform color, are its natural characteristics and therefore should not be considered defects or flaws. They are the guarantee of the authenticity of the mother-of-pearl.
