MOTHER-OF-PEARL, also known as nacre, comes from the farming of mollusks in tropical seas and Australia. It is a natural, hard, and iridescent organic material that lines the inside of shells. Composed mainly of calcium carbonate, it stands out for its shimmering luster.

Mother-of-pearl displays iridescent reflections and rainbow tones that vary as the angle of light changes; as it is a natural product, it is rarely perfect, unlike "nacarina," its imitation, which always has a uniform and flat color.
