MOTHER-OF-PEARL, also known as nacre, comes from mollusks farmed in tropical seas and Australia. It is a natural organic material, hard and iridescent, that coats the inside of shells. Composed mainly of calcium carbonate, it stands out for its shimmering luster.

Mother-of-pearl features iridescent reflections, rainbow tones that change as the angle of light shifts; as it is a natural product, it is rarely perfect, unlike "nacreine," its imitation, which always has a uniform and flat color.

Small imperfections such as joints, roughness, and relief patterns, as well as uneven color, are its natural characteristics and should therefore not be considered defects or flaws. They are the guarantee of the authenticity of mother-of-pearl.
